After graduating, Sid spent a year in private practice in a country town in northern Queensland and three and a half years in public and private practice in Canberra. Always up for a challenge, he pursued a master’s degree in advanced dentistry from the University of Sydney in 2015, a course that involved both clinical work and a research component, for which he undertook three systematic reviews.
Equipped with the skills to read professional dental literature critically and apply that knowledge in clinical practice, he set his sights on the University of Otago. There he gained a Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry as a Prosthodontist (Specialist) on a doctoral scholarship, undertaking research in teeth bleaching and treating complex cases according to evidence-based practice. Click Here to read his publications. Along the way he also attained MRACDS* (Prosthodontist), reinforcing his high standards of patient management, diagnosis and treatment. Following extensive training and clinical experience, Sid derives much satisfaction knowing the benefits his practice brings to the patients he serves and the community at large.
Sid enjoyed teaching all areas of removable, fixed and implant prosthodontics to undergraduate students at the University of Otago. Click Here for a list of Sid’s lectures and to see a video. His special clinical interests are removable prosthodontics (dentures), implant reconstructions, ceramic crowns and occlusion.
In the weekend, Sid enjoys adventure sports like rock climbing, skiing, motor biking and scuba diving. He also likes getting in touch with nature by riding his road bike and going on hikes with his fiancée who is a scientist.

Dr Kothari was very patient and caring with me, treated me with a lot of respect and gentleness besides being professional, attentive, sensitive, elegant and very thoughtful in your approach, to meet my sensitive and complex health situation, and created the best solution for my mouth. You have a very good bedside manner, you have a great positive energy with thought for solutions and nothing is impossible.
From the very first appointment we were made to feel at ease. I am the carer of the patient, who felt a great deal of anxiety, as most people do. Dr Kothari was genuinely concerned and empathetic. He is extremely kind, gentle and patient. Words cannot express how grateful we are. Every question answered with respect and details.
A special thank you to Dr Siddharath Kothari for his excellent and caring service. I never experienced treatment like this before. Within 30 minutes I had 5 teeth extracted and a replacement fitted which fitted perfect, I am very happy and a BIG thank you to Dr Kothari. – Anne Reiners
All my back teeth needed to be stabilised, crowns and a bridge being required. I found him to be responsive to my requests for treatment options regarding durability and costs. He proposed an evidence based treatment on which we agreed before he began work. As work proceeded we discussed problems that arose and agreed on solutions. I am delighted with the finished result. – Dave Wilson
